Dead Body Lot on E.13th Street between 2nd & 3rd Avenues

While this neighborhood is indeed going through a period of gentrification, there is still a little whiff of badlands left. They found a dead woman's body stuffed into a trunk in this lot in the summer of 2004. This particular street is also the location of Harvey Keitel's brothel in Martin Scorcese's "Taxi Driver". That said, there's a fancy Kiehl's outlet on one corner and an upscale French bistro on the other.
