Joe Strummer R.I.P.

Painted on the side of Jesse Malin's bar, Niagara, on the corner of 7th Street and Avenue A. Being a punk rocker himself (Jesse was in Heart Attack and D-Generation and is now a solo act), I presume it was Jesse who commissioned this mural. I, for one, think it's damn cool, but am constantly amazed to see that no one has ever defaced it. Also, around the corner from this is the original site of legendary hardcore venue, A7 (long, long gone), which hosted seminal shows by bands like Black Flag, Bad Brains, Beastie Boys and several other bands whose names didn't necessarily start with the letter B.
