Former site of the legendary No Wave/Punk hotbed, the Mudd Club, as made famous by Talking Heads' "Life During Wartime" and Glenn O'Brien's "Downtown 81". Doesn't look like much now (especially under the scaffolding), but it used to be quite the happening place (or so I've heard tales....I was too young to go, at the time). The man in red to the bottom left was most displeased with me for taking his picture. Too bad.
