Just so we're clear, referring to the coronavirus/Covid-19 as "the Wuhan Virus" is an act of knowing, prickly antagonism. Wuhan is a city in Central China that is home to 13 MILLION people -- that's FIVE MILLION PEOPLE *MORE* than New York City.
Much like in every other major metropolis across the globe, people in Wuhan lost children, parents, grandparents, cousins, loved ones, siblings, sweethearts, best friends to this pandemic by the thousands. But to reduce the origins of the virus to "the Wuhan virus" lazily makes all those innocent victims complicit. It's sniveling jingoistic bullshit to assign blame to the entirety of this populace. Don't do it. Be better than this.
And if you come back at me by saying "that's where it comes from," I'll ask you this ... are people in jeopardy of confusing it with some OTHER pandemic?
Own it and apologize for it.
