Being that it's Poison Ivy Rorschach's birthday, I thought it was only fitting to exhume this old clip of the mighty Cramps playing at The Peppermint Lounge. This clip purportedly dates back to 1984, a year after they'd have released Smell of Female, a live album actually recorded at the venue in question.
I regret to say that I was never able to darken the doors of the Peppermint Lounge, this incarnation being the one at 100 Fifth Avenue, and not the arguably more famous one that had operated on 45th Street in the Fifties and Sixties.
I do vividly remember the outside of the club, for whatever that's worth. Today, 100 Fifth Avenue is just another yawnsome retail space.
