If I'm being honest, despite being a big music fan, I cannot say I'm always thrilled to discover a musician "busking" while I'm trying to catch a train home. I mean, there's a time and place for everything, and rush hour assuredly isn't the perfect moment to hear someone making theremin noises with a bow and a saw while you're trying to muscle onto a crowded N train before the doors close.
Hurrumphy grumpiness aside, however, every now and then, you'll hear someone creating something genuinely beautiful amid the dank, subterranean squalor of the NYC subway system. Here's a compelling little film from 2009 by one Mike Kobal that culls together moments just like that. Enjoy.
