Nine from the Nineties

Mention “90’s music” to your average layperson on the street, and they’ll probably make some tired allusion to grunge, gangsta rap and boyband pop. Suffice to say, there was considerably more to the decade in question than that.

Apropos of nothing at all, herewith nine of my favorite tracks from the early 90’s. I don’t know if it’s even fair to call these “one hit wonders,” given that they’re mostly British indie bands, and “hit” is such a relative term. Whatever. Why parse distinctions? In any case, enjoy the stroll back through time, if you’re so inclined.
