Yesterday, I randomly happened upon an amazing collection of photographs by one Elaine Norman, a New Yorker with an eye for many of New York City's myriad heretofore vanished details. There at the top of this collection, meanwhile, was a shot of the Trans-Lux theater that she snapped in 1981. I hope she doesn't mine me repurposing it here, as it truly put the hook in me. Just the couple of interior shots she includes there bring it home about your feeling for the place. WOW!
And Ms Norman's pics in that particular collection, AND her other groupings are VERY evocative of a time and place now long gone. She's GOT the look!
