So, the Rolling Stones are back in town in a couple of weeks, slated to play at the freshly-minted Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn. I’ve actually seen them a couple of times in my day, albeit both instances during less-than-crucial eras (specifically the Voodoo Lounge and Bridges to Babylon tours). They still put on a great show, but whatevs.

Speaking of the Stones, herewith another clip from a more accessible age. I spoke about the incident in greater detail here, but the local newscast footage here – however grainy -- is kinda fun. Looks like ticket buyers are lined up on 6th Avenue between Washington Place and W 4th Street. There used to be a Ticketron there?
