Yesterday's sad news of the untimely passing of disco icon Donna Summer has invariably prompted everyone's focus to move on, but I wanted to put up just one more Beastie Boys picture in the wake of the death of Adam Yauch.
Being that this photo (snapped by director Spike Jonze) was shot in my old `hood (right in front of the Gugenheim Museum, around the corner from my grade school, St. David's), this image has always made me smile. Herewith the Beasties hamming it up in full on Upper East Side mode. There's actually another great shot from this session, viewable in the art for the compilation, Sounds of Science, of the boys crossing the street in front of Central Park's Engineer's Gate, about a stone's throw from the location of the shot above.
