Suicidal Tendencies actually had a great show there just after the 1st album came out (1st show in NYC, Bad Brains, etc. etc. all in the house) and managed to get a CB's show the next day.

Jan Smiddy

My favorite Gildersleeves memory:

A command performance for three chapters of the Hellos Angels. As the first band finished its set, a group of bikers came up and destroyed all the instruments a la The Who.

I was a roadie for another band and I'll never forget the nervous looks exchanged by the bandmates..."er, are we next?"

There was no more destruction as the first band "melee" had been pre-arranged -- that is they paid to destroy the instruments.

A great time was had by all.

Gildersleeves was replaced by the Salvation Army Men's hostel. Should still be there.
