I've been coveting this item on the shelf at Other Music for the past couple of weeks and I'm bound to spring for it at one point or another. For fans of the punky discordance of the fleeting NYC No Wave scene, filmmaker Ericka Beckman finally offers a flip side --- or a more westerly side, if you will – to the Lower East Side version as legendarily captured on Brian Eno's No New York. Today, real estate along this little strip of Soho has quadrupled in value and it's a very different place indeed, but once upon a time, it played host to some pretty adventurous stuff (as you'll hear).
