What an enjoyable read. Yes, I've been listening to Blind Blake (a la "Diddie Wa Diddie" and "Come on Boys Let's Do That Messin' Around"). I scoffed when a friend told me about another Blind Blake, a "calypsonian" as Lomax would have put it. She swore I'd love his stuff and made me a tape. This was several months ago. Since the CD player at work broke last week, I've been pulling out the old tapes- everything from Fletcher Henderson to Dead Moon. I brought the B. B. tape to work today and found it so compelling that I played it three times. It is fantastic stuff. I'm very glad that my search this afternoon has turned up such interesting reading! You start with G.G. Allin and Kiss and move into the B. B. stuff. I'd like to subscribe to your stuff if there is some way to do that. I'd also love to find the lyrics to "Lord's Got Tomatoes," possibly the most catchy of the tunes on the tape. Cheers!! thanks.

Thanks for the kind words, Nick. In terms of subscribing, if you scroll down on the bar to the left, there's an option to subscribe to the feed. I'm reasonably prolific here (maybe not a new post every day, but I shoot for that) -- although the quality of said posts isn't always that consistent (as is readily evident). Thanks for reading!!!!
