This won't mean anything to the non-New Yorkers out there, but evidently Crazy Eddie's is coming back (albeit with an entirely new owner). The New York Post isn't too thrilled about it, but I have nothing but positive memories of the chain. I mean, yeah, Eddie Antar was by all accounts a slimy crook and their ads were super annoying, but in an endearing sort of way. Prior to discovering the myriad joys of record shopping in the Village, this Upper East Side lad routinely got his music fix at various Crazy Eddie's outlets (Third Avenue & 84th, East 86th between Lexington & Third and East 57th between 3rd & 2nd, specifically). Will the new stores live up to the infamous name? I doubt it. With most of the current crop of chains stores closing their doors, I wonder if they'll sell music.
