Hey kids! Looky what I found! Yet another way to impose my musical tastes on an unsuspecting and largely disinterested public and vainly scream from the rooftops, "Hey World, look how super eclectic I am!" Fret not, though. I'm not about to renounce my Pablum Playlist nor give up my Mog account, but this new service -- inexplicably dubbed Muxtape -- allows one to fashion a virtual mixtape of songs to showcase. As such, here is selection of twelve of my favorites in completely random order. Unlike the mixtapes I slavishly agonized over in my adolescence and young adulthood, there is no agenda to this mix. I'm not trying to seduce anyone with it or correct a dear friend's awful taste with a much-needed injection of merciless rock action. This is just a selection of arguably esoteric tracks from a clutch of different artists that have practically zero in common with each other. The one common element is that I love all of them.
