In much the same way my heart bleeds whenever a record store closes, I'm equally disheartened whenever I hear that another music magazine is folding. This time it's alt.country/Americana rag, No Depression. I was never an avid reader, although I did once pitch a review of a disc by my friend, Dusty Wright to them (which they summarily shot down as being, if I remember correctly, "too fawning").
In any case, No Depression will continue as an online entity, but lonesome, slide-guitar cravin' cowpokes and grizzled roots-rockers should no longer bother looking for it on newsstands. And that's a cryin' shame.
