A filmmaker recently reached out to me, invariably prompted by all my grousing about gentrification. His name is Reed Fulton Korach, and he's made a short documentary called "New York Lost," ruminating on the changes that have transpired in New York City not only post-September 11th, but post-Giulliani's "Quality of Life" blitzkrieg of the 90s. You can see the film in its entirety for a limited time on its official MySpace page, and it's well worth checking out -- some truly hateful characters therein (notably "Noah, East Village Gentrifier" who extolls the merits of Whole Foods' uber-convenience). Do give a viewing, and check out the film's official website as well.
