While I've made no secret of the fact that I've had more than enough time to post here on Flaming Pablum in the last couple of months, I can't help noticing that a lot of my favorite fellow residents of the blogusphere have gone a bit quiet of late. Oh sure, Ben's still feverishly writing away (despite simultaneously being a super-busy media exec, budding documentarian and a restless performing musician with rocket fuel in his veins -- let alone one who is about to get married -- Ben still finds time to write about it all), and Hot Johnny is still serving up steady rotations of prurient non sequiturs and poop jokes (him being, like myself, unencumbered by gainful employment of any sort) , but former colleagues and once tirelessly active bloggers like Jonathan and Josh have gone mysteriously mum. Being that I no longer share an office with those guys, I can't jog over to their respective desks to see if they're alright or trapped under something heavy that is preventing them from accessing their keyboards. It's more likely that their respective work-loads have prevented them from doing anything other than their appointed rounds - rudimentary personal hygiene maintenance included.
But it's not just my former colleagues -- EZ Snappin' Erik has completely closed up shop and seemingly killed off his blog (you'll notice I no longer list it as -- y'know, what's the point?) Despite the fact that he hasn't posted anything since January, I'm keepin' Tod up there, as I know he's busy working on a few projects, and I hope he'll update his blog again soon.
Well, regardless, I've still got loads of stuff to say -- some of it even actually worth reading. But the bigger question remains: not to put to much weight on Josh, Jonathan and Erik's circumstances, but maybe blogging itself has -- to bludgeon an already beaten-into-submission cliche -- "jumped the shark" and summarily crashed and burned?
