I’m very sad to report that today is my trusted colleague Jane’s final day over at The Job. Jane was one of the first people I met at the gig (she sat right behind me), and she and I have become good friends in the past year and a half. She’s invariably going to go onto bigger and better things, and the organization as a whole is assuredly going to miss her laser-like precision and impeccable eye for scrupulous detail. Compounding that loss, I will miss her wit, insight, compassion and company. Since first learning of her plans to leave, I’ve been fruitlessly trying to persuade her to stay, but to no avail. In any event, I’d like to send this song out to her and wish her luck in all her future ventures. She will be greatly missed. Mornings will simply not be the same. Good luck to you, Jane!
Play this really loud, goddammit. And yes, pedants, the song is originally by Slade, but this is Slade's Noddy Holder singing with the Metal Gurus (a.k.a The Mission's fleeting glam-rock alter-ego). Enjoy!
