In the latest episode of "People Are Such Stupid Assholes," watch as an incredibly naïve couple move into what should have seemed like a suspiciously cheap apartment in the East Village, only to find that living above a bar which hosts live bands is -- wait for it - hey, kinda freakin' loud! Sad but true, Manitoba's -- the fine establishment owned by NYC legend and erstwhile lead singer of the Dictators, Handsome Dick Manitoba (pictured at left with refreshingly-not-yet-dead-despite-appearances Ace Frehley) -- is under fire from a pair of jackasses upstairs whose attention to detail is evidently sorely in need of sharpening. The worst case scenario is this instance is that Manitoba's revenue takes an irreparable hit as a result and is forced to close its doors (thereby slaying yet another of the neighborhood's dying vestiges of character and homegrown Punk Rock). Click here for a fuller explanation.
Two good friends of mine have actually lived the very same building (albeit on the top floor), and both of them regarded living above Manitoba's as not only a convenience, but a damn honor! RESPECT HANDSOME DICK!
