Evidently, NARM (the National Association of Recording Merchandisers) and the entirely suspect Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame have released their list (oy,…again with the lists) of the "definitive 200" albums of all time.
Selections range from the tragically predictable (The Beatles' Sgt.Pepper's.., The Rolling Stones' Exile on Main Street, The Who's Who's Next, Bob Dylan's Highway `61 Revisited, Nirvana's Nevermind) to the face-smackingly ill-considered (Alanis Morrissette's Jagged Little Pill, Shania Twain's Come On Over, Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet, 50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Tryin', Phil Collins' No Jacket Required). Suffice to say, without dislocating my jaw, my mouth simply isn't wide enough to accommodate the yawn that this list inspires.
