Another day, another Flickr find. I spotted this gallery of NYC photos from the 1960s yesterday. There are some by-now familiar shot therein (taken by a wide variety of photographers both renowned and anonymous), but some choice surprises. I plucked out the below shots of The World's Fair, Cooper Union and Second Avenue, but definitely click on over and give them all a perusal.
The Cooper Union building looks like it has some windows boarded up. Was the building neglected during this time period? ...(60's)?
There's that diner that was in the other photo of Astor Place that was posted recently. Before the "sculpture for living". as the developer put it. and before the parking lot, that's in the photo. and was there for years, I wonder what else was at this site?
