Oh, and speaking of punk being dead, check out the brand spankin' new "virtual tour" of late, lamented CBGB. As mawkishly gimmicky as it is, I have to say that it's fairly well done.
I've swiped this, by the way, from the excellent This Ain't the Summer of Love blog, which you should all go check out.
That's really an excellent photo, all lit up like that. Barely even recognize it. The lighting makes it look like fresh air is coming in through a sky light and the floors look so clean, rather than that splat sound your shoe would make with every step.
